Alice in Wonderland
Character: Alice
Alice in Wonderland is a 1951 American animated feature produced by Walt Disney and based primarily on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland with a few additional elements from Through the Looking-Glass. A daydreaming girl follows a white rabbit down a rabbit hole and into an imaginary land.
I love this dress. It's one of my favorites! It's a short hoop skirt under a circle skirt, white apron with shoulder ruffles, blue shirt with poofy sleeves, wig, white tights, and black shoes.
Made it in 2011, but didn't have the chance to wear it until Fanime in 2012. I took a motorcycle to the convention center to avoid traffic, so I smooshed the whole hoop skirt up around my waist into the jacket. It was like magic to watch it explode out when I got there [like an umbrella.. pop! and I'm dressed]. I went out for sushi afterward, just 2 miles away from the convention, and a lady customer said she wanted to "rent" me.... when I didn't respond, she went on to say "for a children's party".. it was funny/awkward.
I also wore it to J-POP Summit Fest in San Francisco 2012. I received a bunch of compliments for keeping it authentic, and not "skimpifying" the costume [apparently no one really likes the slutty Halloween version].

Worn to J*POP 2012 and FanimeCon 2012 and 2013
