Little Red Riding Hood
Fairy tale character: Little Red Riding Hood.
She's originally from a European fairy tale about a young girl and a Big Bad Wolf. The story can be traced back to the 10th century. There are hundreds of costume variations, but for the most part they all have a red hood cloak.
If you like this, I also did Little Bo Peep.
There has been an up-shoot of fairly tale movies these past decade. Like, several about the same characters. A bunch of Snow White movies, a bunch of Red Riding Hood movies, a bunch of Fairy Tale movies, a bunch of princess movies in general....
I didn't see many of them. To be honest, there were just Way to many. Hollywood really went crazy with the remakes/spinoffs/reboots/sequels. They should really get some writers to make new material. I'm starting to think every movie is the same. Or at least predictably similar.
Anyways.
I made this outfit and a wolf-hat, thinking that it would make a nice pair. I'm really proud of the hat. Working with furry material is always tricky cause it gets everywhere. It was a baseball cap. I hacked the bill off, cut it in half, and turned it into ears. It's nice and poofy. Very sturdy and cute. The ears turned out Way larger than I anticipated, so it's extra adorable.

Costume consists of: the dress and cloak. As usual, there's a work in process picture on the Workshop page. I made the whole costume from scratch. Someone gave me some color appropriate fabric, and I felt compelled to make this right away to show them that the fabric DID go to a good home.
Wasted fabric is becoming a problem around here. So now I'm just trying to minimize storage. Using every scrap to make bows or something, so I don't keep it in storage. some Pictures were taken in my backyard, during one of my annual Fire shoots. Photos by me. AND Photos taken at FanimeCon. Photos by Toshi Studios, Charlee C, and others. |
