Patamon - Digimon
Patamon is a small flying guinea pig-like creature with bat-like wings, which could possibly be his ears. Digimon: Digital Monsters, is a Japanese anime television series [2000], where a group of young teens are unexpectedly sent to the mysterious Digital World and paired up with their own powerful, morphing monster called the Digimon. Together the entire group set out on an adventure to fight evil and save the world. The show came back as Digimon tri [in 2015].
For me, the costume is more about nostalgia. I've done other Digimon. I was part of a Digimon group last year [I was Palmon] and I also made this headband for a friend. So I finally got around to wearing it myself. The headband is made of foam, and has a wire band holding it on.
I made this skirt myself out of Ikea fabric. It's a half-circle skirt. This costume was easy. Tutu, skirt, shirt, a patch that I made myself, sandals, wig. It's basically an all orange outfit.
I never thought orange was my color, but it doesn’t look bad. I think the whole thing looks caricature 1950s-ish. Like if I was in a rival group to the PinkLadies, called the OrangeCats.
I had no good reason to make an orange cat skirt, but I did anyways.
This decade, my fashion sense has been getting gradually more bizarre to off-set how boring I feel as a responsible-working-adult. This costume was actually supposed to be worn with an orange raincoat that I’ve had for years. But since it's summer, I'm going the skirt route.
