Pikachu Kigurumi - Pokemon
Character: Pikachu
Pokémon is a media franchise published and owned by Nintendo [and created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1996]. Originally released as a pair of interlinkable Game Boy role-playing video games developed by Game Freak, Pokémon has since become the second-most successful and lucrative video game-based media franchise in the world.
I didn't make this costume, it's a store bought kigu. "Kigurumi" is used to describe full-body animal pajamas with hoods or hats styled after animals or cartoon characters. Sometimes called "disguise pajamas" or onsie, the clothing is normally worn non-commercially as Japanese street fashion, and is not intended to function as a performance costume. The pajama outfits are made of fleece material, usually in an oversized "one-size-fits-all", and conforms to the body in the manner of normal clothing.
This is a fluke. I forgot to pack any REAL non-costume clothing for the weekend at the con, so I bought a kigu to wear for the evening. It's a really half-assed costume, but it wasn't intentional, All photos taken were just coincidence. My grey eye makeup is left over from wearing Edward Scissorhands all day, and my hair is all crinkly from wearing it under the wig. I wasn't going to post about it in my gallery, since I prefer homemade costumes, but I like having sets of costumes from the same franchise, and I already did a Misty costume.
