Star Trek : The Next Generation
Star Trek: The Next Generation [1987-1994] is an American science fiction television series created by Gene Roddenberry twenty-one years after the original Star Trek series as part of the Star Trek franchise. "Space the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise..."
This basically the same uniform as the other one. See my Red Next Gen uniform, and Original Series Trekkie costume [and a few variations there of: Orion & Andorian].
Yea, I Trek, I trek hard. In fact, I'm re-watching all the original series this month.
I made this uniform at the same time as the other one, because I figured having 2 is better for group continuity. But it turns out finding friends the same size as you is hard.
I made it from scratch. Drafted the pattern myself. I think there's an art to having a nice pressed uniform fit perfectly. & I just love this one. The hardest part was the back zipper. Sewing 3 layers of fabric together is bound to have some 'bunching' issues.
I have really short hair this time. Possibly the shortest it's ever been. And for the first time ever, I'm wearing my actual 'need-these-to-see' glasses as part of a costume. I've gotten really-really comfortable with myself lately.
I think I've hit a point, where I've realized that This is my size, and This is how I look.
I've been telling myself for years that I could look better [well actually, the little naggy-voice in my head that sounds like my mother was telling me that.] But I recently wore a traditional dress for Lunar New Year, which was custom made for me 10 years ago, and it still fit the same. And I was pretty damn pleased with myself about it.
Costume consists of: TNG uniform, leggings, badge, Tri-corder
Pictures were taken at AOD2016, Photos by JeffCox, Mike Igtiben, Kelly Dun, EricV, and others.
