Star Trek alien Orion
Character: Orion female from Star Trek
The Orions are a humanoid species, known for their distinctive green or blue skin. Orion females were very animalistic in nature, known for their extreme carnal appetites and their innate skill of seduction. A Human male could rarely resist the alluring dance of the Orion slave girl. In Orion society, the males were slaves to the females. As a means of deceiving other species, the Orions maintained the facade that the females were the slaves. This was commonly done by selling Orion females on the Orion slave market.
Recently, [ever since the re-appearance of the "sexy green girl" in the 2009 Star Trek movie] this has become a very popular con costume. Instead of just the normal Star Trek uniform, girls are starting to paint themselves green. It's silly, I know.. I wanted to do this because I was having a BLAW day, and to cheer myself up, I decided to paint on myself.... [I've been doing this all my life.. I don't know why].
General advice for painting on oneself; Creme makeups [theatrical] are preferable, and they are best applied diluted with water or moisturizer. Face paints [grease paint] don't like to be diluted [the thicker the application the better the color, like clown makeup] so, if you try to paint it thin then you'll look blotchy. Airbrushing has a nice even overall tone, but you need a friend to apply it for you.
I accomplished this light green tone by mixing moisturizing lotion with face/body paint, and applying quickly with a make-up sponge. It took a few tries, because touch ups made the tone blotchy. After that, the normal amount of eye makeup [a LOT of eye makeup] and a wig.

>> Several weeks after doing this, someone told me their Halloween costume plan to be Miss Argentina from Beetlejuice [1988], and I was like "OMG I think I did that!" So, I guess this could have easily been 2 very different costumes.
