Jessica Rabbit
Jessica Rabbit from the movie: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Sexy lady! Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a 1988 American fantasy comedy noir film. The film combines live action and animation, which depicts a world in which cartoon characters interact directly with humans. Jessica Rabbit the human wife of the murder suspect, Roger Rabbit, and is one of the most famous sex symbols on the animated screen. In 2008, Jessica Rabbit was selected by Empire Magazine as one of The 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time. In March, 2009, a UK newspaper voted Jessica Rabbit the sexiest cartoon character of all time.
I wanted to do the dress after I saw a makeup tutorial about doing the giant cartoon eyes.. obviously I didn't do them quite right, but I was inspired to try. The dress was super easy to make. It has a big slit that goes wayyy too high, and a low back. The trick with the dress is that it has bra cups sewn into the front, but not around the back. Jessica rabbit's dress is strapless, but I don't have magic cartoon boobs, so the straps were necessary.. although, I guess I could've made them clear. I made the purple gloves myself because I couldn't find a pair long enough.
The biggest challenge was trying to get the dress to stay on. If I stood perfectly still the skirt would hang together and you wouldn't see too much leg, but the slightest breeze would blow the skirt wide open. We tried taking some pictures outside next to classic cars, but pervy middle aged dudes kept wandering in to creep around.
