Vulcan - Star Trek [Next Generation]
Vulcans are a fictional extraterrestrial humanoid species in the Star Trek franchise who originate from the planet Vulcan. In the various Star Trek television series and movies, they are noted for their attempt to live by reason and logic with no interference from emotion.
Star Trek is an American science fiction media franchise. Blue Star Trek uniforms are for Science and Medical staff.
There isn’t much room for deviation with this costume. Black pants, uniform, regulation accessories. I guess that’s the joy of having a uniform, they all sort of look the same. There was even a booth inside the convention selling similar uniforms and props.
There’s something particularly unflattering about unisex costume shirts, both B-rad and I are wearing the same shirt size, and as you can see, his fits nicely, but mine wrinkles a bunch around my curves. I tried [while wearing it] to pin in the sides and give it a bit more of a feminine cut, but it didn’t seem to work well enough. If I had a bit more time I would have tailored the sleeved as well. These shirts were a gift. This outfit was totally store bought. Rubie's. No part of this costume was made by me.
You can't really see in the photos, but I'm wearing Vulcan ears. I have worn this exact same wig and ear combo before with a different uniform, years ago. The makeup was fun. I had watched makeup tutorials about how to make your eyebrows disappear, but wasn't having much luck with it. So, I put a piece of a bandaid over half my eyebrow to get that upswept look.
This particular con was supposed to be heavy on the Star Trek theme because of the celebrity guests, but it ended up seeming very much Star Wars.
Pictures were taken at SVCC2016. Photos by Toshi, EricV, and others.
