Jack Skellington - Nightmare Before Christmas
Jack Skellington is the patron spirit of Halloween from the 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town and lives in a fantasy world based solely on the Halloween holiday. His usual appearance is a skeleton dressed in a black pin-striped suit and a bow tie resembling a bat. I've also done a Sally cosplay.
This one started because I was on a mission to use up old fabric that I've had for way too long. The fabric print of the dress is Halloween themed and After making nearly the whole dress, I realized that the striped shirt resembled a Jack doll I had on my shelf. The collared undershirt was originally a mens XXL shirt that I modified down to a womens, and used the extra fabric to make the hem of the dress, and some bows. I told a friend about it, Seralu, and she Jumped at the chance to be my Oogie Boogie.
Without the makeup, I look like a gothic lolita waitress.
Unfortunately, this costume wasn't well received at Con. I think only 2 people recognized us immediately. But we got some great photos! This was one of the Bigger cons to happen in the area. I was in the same Building as Stan Lee.
I made the dress part from scratch. its got box pleats, and a zipper down the back. And the collared shirt is a modified mens shirt. The bat tie is craft foam. The face paint is just a skull. I googled a dozen pictures and went from there. Aren't I beautiful?
Pictures were taken at SVCC2016.
