Pumpkin Head
Scarecrow Pumpkin Head. Yea, I'll admit that I didn't work super hard on this costume. The mask is store bought, and the dress is the same one I used for my Jack Skellington Nightmare Before Christmas cosplay. Made it myself.
This could be the scarecrow version of Jack Skellington, or just a scarecrow. See the Workshop page for some dress progress pictures.
I think the pumpkin head scarecrow is a staple of Halloween decorations; it's right up there with Jack-o-lanterns, spiders, ghosts, and black cats. The mask isn't anything special, just a pre-made mask which I didn't alter at all. It's been in my Halloween box for several years.
I wanted to do this because I've been on a Halloween kick. A lot of stuff has been happening around me lately, and I'm just focusing on the good parts to distract myself while it all blows over.
It's October right now, and I'm not personally ready for the Holiday season. The stores are already stocking the Christmas decorations, and I've over here with an armful of pumpkins trying to 'find my happy place'. I'm an autumn person. I'm also not a people-person. So there's a narrow window in the year when I can focus on Me Stuff. I've been trying to get lost in the season.
I'm really proud of that painting in the background. The Gloomy Forest. I made it just to be a background for this shoot, but it turned out so nice that I'll probably try to keep it up.
Pictures were taken at one of my annual fire shoots. 10/2016. Pictures by me.
