Poison Ivy - Batman - DC universe
Character: Poison Ivy
From Batman [comics, movies, animated series]
Poison Ivy is depicted as one of the world's most prominent eco-terrorist. Fellow villain Harley Quinn is her recurring partner-in-crime and possibly her only human friend. Her costume has gone through many different variations, but it's basically all green (with ivy leaves), and red hair.
I wanted to make this because I had some green spandex left over from my little Tinker Bell dress, and a red wig left over from Ariel. <<Not the best story. I wasn't compelled to finish this costume for any particular event, so it's been hanging on the closet door for almost 3 months [before I deemed it photo ready, and another 3 months before I took a single picture].
Costume consists of: green spandex leotard, fake ivy leaves, red wig, foam eyebrow leaves (I had green tights, but I couldn't find them when I was packing for Fanimecon.. oh well..)
At first, I didn't want to use actual fake leaves, so I tried air-brushing a leaf design on to the fabric, but it was definitely lacking. I like this costume. Quick and easy [glue and leaves]. I think the coverage is flattering. I've seen skimpy costumes that are just ivy covered lingerie, but I think this works better [I never thought I had the shoulders to pull off "strapless"]
Worn to FanimeCon 2013, Photos by Paul Stout. and to Ani-Jam 2013. Commissioned artwork by Hyperbooster
GreatWhite was Two-Face, and we found another couple dressed as Black Mask and Red Hood [but not a single Batman to complete the group.. go figure.] Poison Ivy and Two-Face used to date [according to the 90s cartoon, episode "Almost Got 'Im"].
